5.6.2 Policy of Non-discrimination for Transgender

Following the administrative restructuring within the Istanbul Kültür University Women and Social Research Unit, collaborative efforts have been initiated with LİSTAG (Association of Families and Friends of LGBTI+ Individuals) to develop an Anti-Discrimination Policy for Trans Individuals.

LİSTAG (Association of Families and Relatives of LGBTI+ in Türkiye) is a support and solidarity organization founded by parents of LGBT youth and families whose children or relatives identify as LGBTI+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, and +). As an association, LİSTAG envisions a future in which everyone enjoys equal citizenship rights, where sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression are recognized, freely expressed, and respected without discrimination. To realize this vision, LİSTAG provides guidance and support to LGBTI+ families and their relatives through information-sharing and community engagement.

LİSTAG also offers consultancy services to its members, as well as to other civil society organizations, companies, and institutions. This consultancy primarily addresses the specific issues and challenges faced by LGBTI+ individuals. Additionally, LİSTAG conducts advocacy activities aimed at ensuring full equality for LGBTI+ people, including promoting the enactment and implementation of appropriate laws, developing inclusive policies, raising public awareness, and encouraging positive changes in societal attitudes.
